The APS Gap Guard is a critical safety and efficiency solution for loading docks. It prevents hazardous gaps between the door frame and leveler pit that can allow pests, debris, water, and light infiltration—while also reducing injury risk from trip hazards or equipment damage. By sealing this space, the Gap Guard improves dock hygiene, helps regulate interior climate, and enhances overall operational safety and compliance. For docks with larger gaps, the optional extension ensures a precise and secure fit, making the device adaptable for varied dock configurations.

In addition, provided is a summarized installation: The APS Gap Guard is a protective barrier installed between the dock leveler pit and the door jamb to eliminate dangerous open gaps. If the gap between the door jamb and the leveler pit exceeds 11 inches, a Gap Guard Extension is required. The Gap Guard is custom cut to fit the measured gap and then aligned and mounted using either concrete anchors or welding, depending on site conditions. After installation, the leveler is cycled to ensure the guard does not interfere with operation. The process is repeated for both sides of the leveler.
